The latest video report offers insights into the exhibition “Ragnar Axelsson. Greenland”. The striking black-and-white photographs document life in Greenland and portray a world of unique beauty that is undergoing profound change as a result of climate change.

Im Rahmen der Ausstellung „Ragnar Axelsson. Greenland.“ bietet der Fotohistoriker Hans-Michael Koetzle an ausgewählten Freitagen zur Abendöffnung exklusive Führungen an.
Die Rundgänge beginnen jeweils um 18:00 Uhr und dauern bis etwa 19:30 Uhr.
Die Teilnahme ist kostenfrei, eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich.

Book Signing with Ragnar Axelsson
On Friday, 24 July 2026, Ragnar Axelsson will be a special guest at the Kunstfoyer.
From 5 p.m., the Icelandic photographer will take part in a book signing.
No registration is required. As no more than 150 people may be present in the exhibition rooms at the same time, waiting times may occur during periods of high visitor numbers.
At the same time, 24 July marks the first day of the exhibition “Ragnar Axelsson. Greenland”.
Keeping Cool with Art
When it gets hot outside, a visit to the museum is especially worthwhile: Many museums in Munich, Bavaria and across Germany offer pleasantly tempered spaces – along with art, culture and new perspectives.
The current exhibition Lisette Model can also be discovered at the Kunstfoyer at pleasant temperatures. On view until 5 July 2026, the exhibition presents key bodies of work and iconic photographs by one of the defining photographers of the 20th century. Lisette Model’s gaze is direct, humorous, at times confrontational – and for that very reason still so refreshing today.
